The Bluffton-based Carolina Ballers basketball team fell Tuesday, 54-34, to the Cincinnati Bulldogs on Tuesday in the championship bracket of the AAU 8th Grade Division II Nationals at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla.
With the loss, the Ballers' inaugural season came to an end.
"We started off really well," coach Jacob Morrow said. "They were just a lot more physical. They just got farther and farther away as the game progressed."
Morrow said there was nothing for his kids to hang their heads about.

"They went out and gave their best," said Morrow.
"It was a great learning experience for our guys," he said. "Hopefully next year we can get back to nationals and progress a little farther. It was a great experience for us and it was a great season. I never envisioned us getting this far."
While the team will have to fill three roster spots through tryouts, Morrow envisions bringing most of the team back for next season.
"For the most part, I see everybody coming back to us," Morrow said.
