NFL Fans Fooled By Fake Jalen Hurts Instagram Post

Whether or not you like Eagles QB Jalen Hurts or not, taking advantage of an online controversy to make it seem like he said something fake is pretty nasty work. But that's exactly what happened and it looks like thousands of people bought the lie hook, line and sinker.

On the heels of the controversy over New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart introducing and praising President Donald Trump at a recent event in New York, the "NFL Drop" satire account on X shared an image of a purported "delete message" from Jalen Hurts' Instagram Story declaring that he's a "proud Democrat."

The post has gone viral with over 700,000 views, several hundred shares and 5,000 likes in just a few hours.

FAKE

The problem is, the post is completely fake. As mentioned earlier, NFL Drop is a satire account.

While Hurts probably is a Democrat given his fondness for former U.S. President Barack Obama, or at the very least not a fan of President Trump, he has never publicly criticized or endorsed the sitting President that we can tell.

Dart's decision to introduce President Trump at a recent event was not only rebuked by fans and former Giants, but by current players as well. His teammate Abdul Carter went viral for seemingly expressing his disapproval.

By Monday, all of the major New York radio stations are probably going to be raking Dart over the coals simply for wading into the political waters.

Dart and Hurts are both perfectly within their rights to be as vocal about their politics as they want. But everyone else has the right to criticize them for it too.
