Letters to the Editor

Letter: Put Satan in his place

Regarding Satan Clubs, obviously the editor and the writer of a recent article do not believe we are a Judeo-Christian nation founded on the belief that God created this planet.

The article depicted Satan as having the same status as Jesus. I suggest that the writer read the Bible, Matthew 4:1-11. Even Satan used Scripture to try to trick Jesus to turn stones into bread, and throw Himself off a high pinnacle, and offer Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if He would worship Satan. Jesus’ answers to Satan were the same then as they are now. “Live by every word that comes from the mouth of God”; “You shall not put the Lord your God to the test”; and finally, “You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.” Jesus’ final comments to Satan were: “Be gone, Satan,” and Satan left Him.

The vast majority of your readers are Christians and I am certain the majority of them will side with “Him only shall we serve.” This is the most egregious and insulting article I have ever seen in the newspaper. It is even more disgusting that you chose to put it on the front page of the same section of the paper where you publish places for Christian worship. However, if you are a Satan advocate, I can only close by saying “Be gone.”
