After my experience at Beaufort Memorial Hospital on Aug. 4, I will hold the men and women on its staff in the highest regard.
A seemingly routine observational trip to the emergency room ended with my mother in the intensive care unit and having an emergency surgery. The road to surgery also included a "code blue" alert.
Here is where I give the BMH staff praise. The staff members on the second floor near room 260 are my heroes, except they weren't wearing capes but blue scrubs. These men and women, while they will say were just merely doing their jobs, saved my mother's life.
My mother lost her pulse, and I almost lost my mind. Their tenacity and speed allowed me to still have my mother. I believe God placed these particular people in my life for a reason and purpose. I am eternally grateful that purpose was served. Thank you all, and God bless you.
