Island's home prices show recession mindset

The homeowners on Hilton Head Island are sitting on a gold mine. The lifestyle of the island is unparalleled. However, the buyers coming onto the island to purchase homes and some of our real estate agents are suffering from foreclosure syndrome. In most cases the buyers have a lot of cash from a recent home sale, but they are still expecting to get a deal.

Homeowners on the island need to realize they are holding the prize. They must understand the real value of their property and not be persuaded to accept anything less to get a quick sale.

We all need to work toward gaining a higher closing price rather than adding to a higher number of sales.
