Surrounded by things that don't make sense

Well, you know ...

Traditional American marriage remains in decline. Now we have a group of people who eagerly want traditional marriage and are keenly interested in adopting children, even ones with special needs, and the response is -- well, you know ...

The Catholic church continues to see a declining membership and cannot find enough male priests to serve. Now it has a group of women -- many of them nuns -- willing to serve the church and attempt to renew its mission, and the response is -- well, you know ...

It reminds me of the old joke about the man trapped on his roof by rising flood waters who rejected the assistance of an amphibious truck, then a boat, and finally a helicopter. All of these he turned away because he was waiting on God's help. Finally, with the waters reaching his waist, he cried out once more for divine help. God responded, "Who do you think sent the truck, the boat, and the helicopter?"

This country expended countless blood and treasure to rid the world of its two worst totalitarian states, the Nazis and the Communists. If you can help me with any of this, I would appreciate it.
