What happens to that guy or gal who doesn't want to attend college after high school or can't afford the tuition?
One might get the impression that in our society, anyone who doesn't have a college education is relegated to the status of second-class citizen.
Well, who works on our cars, helps build our houses, serves us in restaurants, clerks in our stores, does our plumbing, does landscaping, protects us as police officers and firefighters? The majority of these jobs are filled by people with less than college degrees, and they do superior work. Without these dedicated workers, our businesses couldn't be successful.
Indeed, we do need higher education for specialized fields, but to say that such citizens are more important or more useful than those who actually help our society function properly is a gross mistake.
