Letters to the Editor

America's future on very shaky ground

I'm writing this letter so I might share my deep concern with you for the future of America.

I'm 80 years old, served in the Marines and founded and ran a business that helped keep the environment safe. I'm retired and have eight children and 11 grandchildren.

God and America have been good to me, and I want that to continue for my family.

Unfortunately, America is in the hands of some very incompetent people. You know the mess: unemployment, financial crisis, international chaos and corruption.

It's time for Americans, regardless of party affiliation, to take President Barack Obama at his word: If he can't turn this economy around, he doesn't deserve a second term.
