Voters should focus on the meat, not sizzle

It almost seems as if it's come down to two national teams vying for the championship.

Each side is complete with a platform, game plan, mascots, colors and a large cheerleading squad. The respective platforms and game plans are the essential components as to whether either team will be successful, but it's getting lost in the cheerleading noise.

Too many people are taking sides, not because the platform and game plan works, but as the result of team association.

Despite the hoopla and fanfare, unlimited government and Keynesian spending doesn't work. I hope the electorate can realize that there is more than a football game at stake. It's about whether our country survives or perishes into the annals of history.
