The silliness of the Republicans and their cohorts generally, and in the run-up to the conventions particularly, has provided much dark humor.
They seem not to realize how risible their behavior is as they jumble up non-facts and illogic about history, economics and science. Questioning or denying global warming, evolution, heliocentrism, an orbicular earth, and of course, Obama's provenance is their hallmark. Especially, they hate all things Obama.
A letter writer April 11 exhibits this in excoriating the $800,000 junket taken by some General Services Administration personnel by noting that it took place "under the oversight of President Barack Obama." Did it occur to the writer that it was the president's man, the inspector general, who uncovered this bit of foolish waste? I suppose the writer requires Obama to do these investigations personally, or they don't count. Such fickleness is where blind animosity leads one. And the letters to the editor from the right lately are full of it.
