Judges' sentencing, calls on bail puzzling at best

A 19-year-old man is arrested and charged with two counts of felony DUI after nearly killing two people (one has her back broken in three places) and is immediately released on his own recognizance, no bond.

After pleading guilty to stealing taxpayer money, former Beaufort County Clerk of Court Elizabeth Smith is sentenced to house arrest.

But after exposing himself, a drunken 19-year-old is held in jail on a $12,130 bond.

Looks like judges are protecting some people, but are they protecting the rest of us?
