The local coverage of presidential candidate Rick Santorum needs to be improved.
On Sept. 15, there was a small item on page 4 reporting that Rick had stumped in Beaufort County the day before. There was no coverage or photo of his speeches. He spoke to about 130 Sun City Hilton Head people and attended an invitation-only dinner at a prominent Hilton Head Island family's residence.
Contrast this with the coverage of Michele Bachmann when she came to Bluffton; the coverage of Rick pales in comparison. Rick has a brother and his family who have lived in Sea Pines and in South Carolina for years and have been heavily involved in our community. Here is one of our own, who should be supported or at least exposed to our voting public.
Rick is the only candidate who has the real experience (12 years in the U.S. Senate) and a plan of action for the problems that we face. He is also courageous and determined to fix what is wrong with our country. Rick has seven kids from 3 to 20, and he still has found the time to run for president because he believes in this country. He deserves more exposure and support from our community.
