Texas Gov. Rick Perry says that climate scientists are in it for the money.
That may also explain why senators received $370,000 for their vote to retain oil subsidies and why Perry has an $11 million history with the oil industry.
So whom are we going to believe? The grant-seeking scientists or the donation-seeking messengers for the oil companies? Considering that our kids air and water are at risk if we get this wrong, let's err on the side of caution by leveling the playing field for clean energy.
What we have now amounts to socialized oil. The subsidies keep the price at the pump artificially low. Remove the subsidies and the market will lead us to true energy independence and create clean energy jobs in the ps.
