My home base was Chicago. We moved to Sun City Hilton Head 14 years ago. It is a wonderful place to retire and we enjoy the Southern lifestyle and hospitality.
Driving the busy U.S. 278 the other night, our car was disabled and all functions were lost, including the emergency flashers. A police car pulled up and pushed us to the shoulder for safety and assured us that he would return and check on us. While awaiting the tow truck, six vehicles stopped to offer us help, and we thanked them and continued to await the tow truck. The care and Southern hospitality amazed us.
It certainly was a wise decision to move to this area. How nice it is to live among people who care.
