Muslims must rein in extremists among them

In the May 22 edition, a story reported that a suicide bomber killed six and wounded 23 Afghan medical students. They are the bomber's own kind, fellow Muslims.

Last week, the Packet carried the story of documents and information from the Osama bin Laden compound regarding plans to attack oil tankers, apparently to disrupt the world economy. Neither of these acts furthers the cause of moderates.

Will Muslim leaders ever be able to promote their cause by removing those who would take them backward 1,000 years. Their leaders desperately need to rein in these extremists. They are just anarchists.

Muslims will always be viewed with suspicion if their leaders don't stop these terrorists.
