My version of a "Congressional Reform Act of 2012" would include:
Term limits, 12 years only, using one of these options -- two six-year Senate terms, six two-year House terms; or one six-year Senate term and three two-year House terms.
No pension. Collect a salary while in office and receive no pay when out of office.
No longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of the consumer price index or 3 percent.
Participate in the same health care system as the American people.
Abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
All contracts past and present with Congress are void, effective immediately. The American people did not make contracts with Congress. Congress made those contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators. Ours should serve their term or terms, then go home and back to work.
