I feel it necessary to address accusations against the Hilton Head Island High School tennis coach in an April 12 letter.
For many years, I have had the pleasure of working with this man at a tennis facility. He is a father, husband, teaching professional and tennis coach. He took this job with great anticipation and excitement to promote the game that he loves. It is turning out to be a nightmare.
He is all the things a coach should be -- honest, hard-working, a leader and a non-drug user.
If you knew him as all his co-workers do, you would be equally appalled at this attempt at character assassination.
Let the parents deal with their misbehaving children, and let this man be a tennis coach, not a baby sitter.
