I do not want to offend anyone as I respond to a letter published Feb. 24 about the national anthem.
I will agree that "America The Beautiful" is a very good song, and it highlights good areas, but it cannot replace "The Star-Spangled Banner."
I do not care who wrote either of these songs. They are for Americans and should be sung in whatever voice they can. Just because a bunch of singers did not sing the anthem right is not Americans' fault.
When "The Star-Spangled Banner" plays, I put my hand over my heart or salute her as one nation under God. United we stand, divided we fall. We are Americans, and that says it all.
