Attempts to e-file return lead to a postage stamp

I wanted to file my 2010 income tax return electronically (e-file).

If one branch of the federal government isn't screwing things up, some other branch will. This time it's the Internal Revenue Service. Before they'd permit me to e-file, I had to jump through some hoops. The last one was a set of five distorted alpha-numeric symbols that I was supposed to copy. Six times I tried, six times a failure message came back. At that point, I decided to hell with it and ordered paper forms. If the IRS really wants to encourage electronic filing, they should make it easy.
