Bold print at the top of an advertisement calls for the attention physicians, nurses and dietitians. It says their help is needed to mentor some of the county's middle school-age children on healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes.
I have a question. Where is the call for parents?
Oh, wait -- since the core family unit is under assault from liberals and progressives, I guess parents don't figure into the equation any longer.
This ad signifies the problems this country has due to the erosion of the family system. We seriously need to reprioritize our thinking.
Perhaps the ad should have been for parents to come and learn the techniques so they could pass them to their children in the family setting.
I got a chuckle out of having a "student discipline and intervention coordinator" at schools. When I was in school, the nuns and lay teachers held this title informally. If you got out of line or showed disrespect, they intervened and when you got home your parents continued the intervention. The problem was solved and the result was a respectful and upright student.
Our future generation is in serious trouble if this is what will be the norm.
