Columnist gets it wrong on 14th Amendment

There you go again, Leonard Pitts.

It is just like him to quote the 14th Amendment without the key clause "under the jurisdiction." Does he really think the writers of the 14th Amendment intended for people to come into the country illegally and deliver an American citizen? Name another country that allows this.

He is correct that President Ronald Reagan provided amnesty to 3 million people; this was supposed to be once and done. So how did that work out?

The 41 states considering immigration measures are not xenophobic. They just want borders controlled so that they are not saddled with the costly consequences. President Barack Obama is in a difficult place; his base wants open borders. Remember a country without borders is not a country. The vast majority of Americans want an end to this madness.
