Recently, a national news show reported that around $6 billion was donated to help Haiti, and they have about $3 billion unspent due to the lack of workers to construct new facilities for the hundreds of thousands living on the street.
Why don't we use that money to employ some of the unemployed construction workers here, send them down there and get the job done?
This way everyone wins -- the street people, the unemployed and those on our unemployment program.
The money is just sitting there doing no one any good. Also, it would be very interesting to see a report on what they have done with the money besides pay large sums to upper "managers."
