Giving winning politicians chance to put things right

First let me say, I did not vote for Gov. Nikki Haley.

But in listening to her inaugural speech the other day, I did not shake my head in disbelief that this could happen in America. I did not criticize everything she said. I'm not going to organize any anti-Haley party and have disc jockeys organize a march on Columbia. I'm not going to listen to media that constantly contradict everything she does.

I'm not counting the days until 2014, so I can vote her out of office. I'm going to give her a chance to clean up the mess that was left to her. I'm going to support her the best I can.

Sometimes we get so involved in supporting our losing candidates that we lose perspective on what's really important. Some of us will be hurt by her policies. But we have to pull together as South Carolinians to get this state back on track. United we stand, divided we fall.
