On Jan. 14, I noticed that the registration on my vehicle was set to expire at the end of the month -- two weeks away. I'd received no notice of renewal or taxes due, so I got on the phone. After a lengthy pursuit, I reached a person in the Beaufort Country Treasurer's Office who told me the renewals were mailed Jan. 10.
I received my renewal Jan. 14, clearly marked that payment must be made by Jan. 31 to avoid DMV penalties.
Am I alone in thinking Jan. 10 is a little late to be mailing January renewals?
