I just finished reading a very lucid article on the parking issues facing downtown. I am sure everyone on City Council is tired of talking about it. It doesn't matter who should have said more when it was being discussed before. It doesn't matter who was right and who was wrong.
The bottom line is downtown is in free fall. There is no way for merchants to compete with free parking everywhere else and the ease of Internet ordering. Level the playing field. Get rid of two-hour limits and parking meters. Businesses with employee parking issues need to fix them, not depend on a parking system to do it. Save our downtown.
