So let me get this right, a recent letter writer essentially wants to see a playground built at Shelter Cove Community Park that entails jungle gyms, swings, etc., to exercise his grandchildren when they occasionally visit, and he thinks the money spent to maintain the park is wasteful. Huh?
I couldn't disagree more. This is an outstanding park with gorgeous vistas of Broad Creek. It provides invaluable environmental fish and wildlife benefits and is a place of serenity for visitors reflecting on the war veterans who died for our freedom.
If the writer wants to provide an outlet for his grandchildren, he should consider building a swing set in his backyard or taking them to Disneyland.
