The recent decision by Beaufort County to reduce the hours of the trash collection centers needs to be reviewed.
First, the hours 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. were set so people could drop their trash off on their way to work. Most people work 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or go to work even earlier. If I have to be at work at 9 a.m., how can I drop off my trash on the way to work?
Or am I supposed to leave the trash in my car all day and then drop it off after work?
Why doesn't Beaufort County buy fewer traffic cameras and put the money where it will have better results? When was the last time you saw one of those cameras climb down the pole and put out a fire; cut an accident victim out of a wrecked vehicle; administer life-saving drugs; catch a bank robber or open the gate to let you in to drop off your trash?
