A man who was stuck in the pluff mud off a Jasper County bank was rescued just after midday Tuesday by a S.C. Department of Natural Resources officer.
The man was walking in the marsh near the Knowles Island Pier about 12:30 p.m., when he went out too far and became stuck, DNR spokesman Brett Witt said. An officer arrived about 20 minutes later and helped pull him out.
The man was cold but uninjured, Witt said.
