EVENTS

  • All incoming freshmen are encouraged to attend a daylong orientation session 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 6. Lunch and bus service will be provided. Students should wear their school uniform. There will also be a separate orientation presentation for new students and their parents or guardians at 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at the school's McVey Performing Arts Center. Parents/guardians and students should plan to visit the teachers in their classrooms following the orientation presentation. Call Diane Grooms at 843-322-5582 for more information or to register.
  • The cheerleading squad will hold tryouts Aug. 7-9 (dates have changed) in the gym. Tryout times will be 9-11 a.m. All students trying out must have a current South Carolina Physical Form on file with the athletic department. Details: Coach Williams, 843-322-5632

    ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Rising eighth-grader Jaco Niemand was invited to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference, hosted by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council in Washington, D.C., on July 20. Niemand was nominated for his leadership capabilities as well as academic performance.
