  • Panini's Cafe on Bay Street will host a school spirit night from 5-8 p.m. today. Ten percent of sales will be donated to the volleyball team. Details: 843-379-0300
  • The next Spirit Night at Jersey Mike's Subs on Robert Smalls Parkway will be from 4-9 p.m. June 23. Ten percent of all sales will support the school's Athletic Booster Club.

  • Departmental awards were given to middle school students who achieved excellent grades throughout the year and demonstrated ways to share their intellectual gifts and love of learning.   • The following students from the Beaufort County School District were accepted to programs at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities: Beaufort High School, Matt Osborne for dance and Tafari Salaam for music; Beaufort Middle School, Celene Lampright for dance and Madison Maddox for music.
  • Area students in kindergarten through seventh grade are invited to participate in the Beaufort County School District's free virtual summer school program. Students can work on individual areas of need or prepare for the coming school year by using a Web-based tool during the eight-week program this summer. Students will complete CompassLearning sequences in math and language arts for each week of summer school. The program will be available today through Aug. 5. Registration is available at

  • The Beaufort High School Class of 1991 will hold its 20th reunion July 29 and 30 in Beaufort. It includes a meet and greet, family cookout and "White Affair Social." The cost is $75 for singles and $115 for couples and families. Money orders or cashier's checks should be made payable to Beaufort High School Class of 1991 Reunion and sent to: P.O.
