BATTERY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL

  • The Band Boosters annual fruit sale will continue through Thursday. Details: 843-322-5580, 843-322-5570
  • The School Improvement Council will meet Thursday in the media center.
  • A PTSO meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the John J. McVey Performing Arts Center.
  • BCHS is supporting the Furniture Warehouse Coat Drive and collecting coats through Dec. 1. This year's goal is to collect 1,500 new or gently used coats for all ages. They can be dropped off in Mrs. Grooms' office.
  • BEAUFORT ACADEMY

  • The Upper School Quiz Bowl Team captured first place in the SCISA regional competition held Nov. 10 at Beaufort Academy. Team members are: Patrick Ferris, Michael Bible, Christopher Huckabee, Eddie Shacklett, Nathan Cheung, Pete Olsson, Katherine Neal and Lily Westergaard.
  • The pre-kindergarten and kindergarten Thanksgiving play will be at 11 a.m. Friday. The first and second grade play will be at 1 p.m. Friday.
  • BEAUFORT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  • Parents are invited to eat lunch at school Thursday. Cost is $4.
  • BEAUFORT HIGH SCHOOL

  • The BHS Dance Ensemble will present its annual fall dance concert at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Arts Center at Beaufort High School. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Details: Teresa Baker, 843-322-2153
  • BEAUFORT MIDDLE SCHOOL

  • BMS will celebrate American Education Week this week. The Parent Action Council will honor faculty and support staff with a breakfast Tuesday.
  • Parents who have pre-ordered will join their students Wednesday for Thanksgiving lunch in the cafeteria.
  • The school's first showcase will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday throughout the building.
  • Dr. Gregory-Smalls' health classes raised $465 for breast cancer awareness in their walk-athon Oct. 27-28. Proceeds will go to the Keyserling Cancer Center.
  • MOSSY OAKS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  • A traditional Thanksgiving lunch will be served Thursday to students and parents who make reservations.
  • The Scholastic Book Fair will continue through Thursday.
  • No school Nov. 24-26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
  • The science fair will be Dec. 2.
  • Progress reports will be sent home Dec. 3.
  • RIVERVIEW CHARTER SCHOOL

  • Empty Bowls is a grass-roots effort to raise money and awareness to end hunger. Riverview and the Lowcountry Food Bank are working together to bring the effort to Beaufort. A viewing and silent auction of bowls made by children and local artists will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the school. A simple meal will be served and donations to the food bank will be collected.
  • ST. PETER CATHOLIC SCHOOL

  • The Catholic Schools Office will visit Tuesday.
  • Chick-fil-A Spirit Night will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
  • Basketball season will start soon. Interest forms should be turned into coach Claire Coffman.
  • The school's annual Homes for the Holidays Gala and Tour will be Friday-Sunday. The gala will be 7-11 p.m. Friday in the Walsh-Palmetto Room and tickets are $75. Home tours will be 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and from noon-3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25. Details: 843-522-6510, 843-522-2163

  • The school will close for Thanksgiving break Nov. 24.

  • The School Improvement Council will meet at 6 p.m. today in the media center.
  • American Education Week is this week.
  • Literacy Night for parents and students will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
  • Thanksgiving lunch for parents and families will be from 10:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday in the gym and cafeteria.
  • THOMAS HEYWARD ACADEMY

  • Thomas Heyward Academy has received a $750 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program to support the school's middle school math department. Mixson Oil and Handy Dan's of Ridgeland worked with school officials to secure the grant, one of 2,400 available to U.S. schools served by Exxon or Mobil stations.
  • WHALE BRANCH EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL

  • Picture Day is Tuesday.
  • An alternative education seminar will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the school.
  • A college campus tour of Armstrong Atlantic State University will be Friday.
