The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing that took place in a domestic-related incident early Thursday morning at a mobile home on Shanklin Road, according to a release from the agency.
The victim, 30, would not say who stabbed him, but a witness came forward Thursday afternoon to report that the man's live-in girlfried was responsible.
The victim was transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for additional care for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the release.
The man contacted the Sheriff's Office shortly after midnight to report that someone stabbed him. However, he refused to meet with deputies or provide further information about the incident and the extent of his injuries.

The man then agreed to meet with deputies around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, but would only say he had been using illegal drugs and alcohol and had been to Beaufort and Port Royal during the night.
It is unclear if the Sheriff's Office has made contact with the girlfriend or if she is considered a suspect.
