Bouncer bitten in Hilton Head bar fight

A Hilton Head Island bouncer was bitten by a patron during a fight Sunday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.

A bartender saw a 24-year-old Bluffton man yelling at his ex-girlfriend in the kitchen of One Hot Mama's on Greenwood Drive at about 11 p.m. and tried to escort him out, the report said. The suspect, who was not an employee, pushed the bartender several times, tried to go back inside and punched a woman in the face, according to the report.

A fight then broke out between the suspect and several bouncers, one of whom was bitten on the neck and cheek, the report said. Another bouncer was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head several times by the suspect's friend, a 22-year-old Hilton Head Island man, the report said.

The victims declined EMS treatment.

The 24-year-old was charged with three counts of third-degree assault and battery, one count of public disorderly conduct and one count of criminal domestic violence in connection with a previous incident involving his ex-girlfriend, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center log. He was being held at the jail Friday, with bail set at $8,782.50.

The 22-year-old was charged with third-degree assault and battery and possession of contraband in a county facility, according to the jail log. He posted a $21,092 bond Monday.
