Bluffton store robbed at gunpoint Thursday night

A Bluffton convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night, according to Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

A man armed with a handgun entered the Kangaroo Express at 1610 Fording Island Road at 11:30 p.m. while the clerk was stocking shelves, a news release said. He ordered the clerk to empty the register. After he received an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled. The clerk was not injured.

The robber is described as a light-skinned black male, age 17 to 20, about 5-foot-11, 150 pounds, wearing a dark colored long-sleeved shirt, dark jeans, and a black baseball cap with a flat, silver brim and "NY" on the front.
