Two people face drug charges after a search Friday of a Hilton Head Island apartment turned up marijuana and cocaine, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.
Juan Marquis Clarke, 23, and Rosetta Shatice Jones, 25, were charged at Hilton Head Gardens on Southwood Park Drive with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute within a half-mile of a school.
Clarke also was in violation of a trespass notice at the apartments, according to the release.
Investigators made controlled drug purchases from the apartment, allowing them to obtain a search warrant, the release said.

Clarke, Jones and two small children were in the apartment at 5:30 a.m. when deputies seized a Luger 9-mm handgun, 2.7 grams of marijuana, one-tenth of a gram of crack cocaine, two-tenths of a gram of powder cocaine and various pills.
The children are in the care of relatives, the release said.
Jones is out on $4,620 bond, according to the Beaufort County Detention Center log. Clarke remains in jail, pending prosecution.
Additional charges could be sought, pending the chemical analysis of the seized drugs, according to the release.
