Hilton Head woman, 59, still missing after a month. Police continue to investigate

Police are still searching for a missing Hilton Head woman who was last seen nearly a month ago.

Brenda Carman, 59, of Hilton Head Island, was reported missing on Aug. 22, and has not had contact with family members since Aug. 9, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. She was last seen that same day by coworkers at the island’s south-end Publix, where she worked in the deli section.

Carman is about 5-foot-9 and weighs 135 pounds, with long sandy brown hair and green eyes.

Police have no leads on Carman’s current location, according to Maj. Angela Viens, a spokesperson for the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Because her vehicle has not been located, she may be traveling in her car: A gray 2013 Hyundai Sonata with minor front-end damage and a South Carolina license plate reading “SRE 108.”

Anyone with information regarding Carman’s location is encouraged to call the Beaufort County Sheriff Office’s dispatch at 843-524-2777.

Two photos show a recent photo of Brenda Carman and her car, which she might be traveling in.
