The Citizen's Police Academy returns in February for its 35th session, allowing county residents ages 18 and older to learn about the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.
The 10-week academy covers enforcement, investigations, homeland security, drug enforcement, gangs and other topics. Participants also experience hands-on demonstrations, according to a news release.
The Beaufort class is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and starts Feb. 3 at the Sheriff's Office at 2001 Duke St. The southern Beaufort County class is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays and starts Feb. 5 at Technical College of the Lowcountry, room 126.
