The S.C. State Transport Police is partnering with North Carolina and Florida highway patrols for a Safe Drive on I-95 campaign, which aims to curb highway fatalities involving commercial vehicles along a 900-mile stretch of Interstate 95, according to a S.C. Department of Public Safety news release.
The effort will run June 17 to 19, the release said.
Also working with the S.C. Highway Patrol and local law enforcement, a task force will monitor driver behavior, check compliance of federal regulations and enforce roadway laws pertaining to commercial vehicles, the release said.
There will be another enforcement operation July 29 to 31, the release said.
