A home on Martin Lane in Seabrook was severely damaged by fire Thursday night, displacing a family of four, according to a news release from the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, according to Burton Fire District Battalion Chief David Grabenbauer. He said smoke was coming through the roof of the double-wide mobile home when crews arrived at about 9 p.m.
"We extinguished it pretty quickly, but the thing about double-wides is that when fire gets into that small attic space, it just moves through the entire residence," Grabenbauer said. The home was destroyed he said.
No injuries were reported. The family was not in the home when crews arrived, Grabenbauer said, but arrived later.
Two adults, one young child and one infant lived in the home, according to the Red Cross, which provided lodging, food and clothing.
