Two Beaufort teens were charged with second-degree burglary Saturday after one was caught leaving a house, according to the Beaufort Police Department.
The boy, who was not identified, was leaving the rear of a house on Laudonniere Street, police said. He tried to evade arrest by running through nearby backyards, according to a report.
He was taken to a state juvenile-detention center in Columbia, where he will be held until trial.
The other teen, 17-year-old Marcus Wright, was charged with second-degree burglary and attempted robbery in relation to a June 24 incident in which Wright had attempted to enter a home on Pilot Street, according to the report.

Wright is at the Beaufort County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail, according to the jail log.
Police were alerted to the house on a report of suspicious activity, according to the report.
