The S.C. Department of Agriculture is collecting unused or unwanted pesticides at seven locations across the state, including one in Ridgeland.
The program is free and open to all private and commercial pesticide users in the state. Commercial users can bring as much as 1,000 pounds of solid and 55 gallons of liquid pesticides at no charge.
No fertilizers, household chemicals, compressed cylinders or empty containers will be accepted.
The Ridgeland collection will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 11 at the Jasper County Farmers Market, 9935 Jacob Smart Blvd.
