AMIkids Beaufort will hold a croquet tournament and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 11 to raise money for its residential facility in Dale, with needs including new laundry facilities and a welding room.
The facility provides education, treatment and behavior modification for male teens convicted of non-violent offenses, and students work toward their high school equivalency diplomas.
The tournament will be held at Brays Island off U.S. 17 in Sheldon. A "Captain's Party" for all participants will be held May 10 at the historic Marshlands home of Brantley Harvey Jr. in Beaufort's National Historic Landmark District.
Teams of four to eight people in period costumes are encouraged to enter, with prizes for the best looking tent or picnic display.
