Churches around the Lowcountry on Sunday celebrated Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Easter that marks the start of the Holy Week and Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. According to the Bible, when Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, the crowds greeting him with palm branches, giving the day its name. That's also the reason churches celebrate with palm fronds or crosses made of palm fronds.
