Operation Southern Hospitality seeks donations for Hurricane Sandy victims on the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut shores.
Nonperishable food is especially needed. Warm clothing, bedding, toiletries, baby-care items, toys, new gas cans and cleaning supplies with disinfectant also are accepted. Items must be unbreakable.
Through Wednesday, businesses including Fresh Market, Celebrations, Collins Group Realty, Remax and local gyms will serve as drop-off locations. Donations also can be made at Hilton Head Preparatory School, Sea Pines Montessori Academy, Branch Christian School and Hilton Head Christian Academy.
Electric Piano Bar on Hilton Head Island will accept donations through Saturday. Auto Spa is accepting them indefinitely. Residents are also offering their homes as drop-off locations. For a complete list, go to the Facebook page for Low Country Relief for Victims of Hurricane Sandy.
