The S.C. Department of Education will host a forum on a waiver from the federal "No Child Left Behind" law next week in Beaufort.
The forum will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Beaufort High School. Department officials will discuss the waiver and answer questions.
The state received the waiver this summer and adopted a new system to meet federal accountability standards that gives schools letter grades as a measure of their progress. The grades were released in early August.
