The S.C. Secretary of State's office is accepting nominations for its annual Angel Awards, which recognize nonprofit organizations that use at least 80 percent of their contributions for charitable services.
Recipients also must be at least three years old, make good use of volunteers, and not rely heavily on grants.
Nomination letters, which must be received by Friday , should include the charity's name, location, contact information and explain why the organization deserves the award.
Nominations can be sent to the Secretary of State's Office, Division of Public Charities, 1205 Pendleton St., Suite 525, Columbia, SC 29201, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
