A boat show featuring a variety of sail and motor vessels is scheduled for May 19 and 20 at Windmill Harbour, a residential community on the Hilton Head Island side of the bridges to the mainland. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.
The boat show, once an annual event in Windmill Harbour, is returning after a hiatus of several years.
Along with about two dozen boats -- including fishing boats, luxury cruising yachts, large sailboats and three Chris Crafts -- organizers have planned other events. Local artists will display marine-inspired works. A U.S. Coast Guard team will demonstrate a helicopter water rescue, and Bluffton firefighters will demonstrate the operation of the fast-attack firetruck at the community's marina.
On Sunday, Sun City Hilton Head's model-sailboat club will stage a regatta with its scale-model boats.
Admission is $10 per person each day and parking is free. No entry to the show by water is allowed.
