Beaufort Police Chief Matt Clancy said seven businesses were broken into between 3:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., including the animal hospital on Burton Hill Road, Yes! Thai Indeed restaurant on Boundary Street and three businesses in Beaufort Town Center, from which about $600 in cash were stolen.

Mizu restaurant on Ribaut Road in Port Royal also was broken into.

Clancy said the glass front doors of all seven businesses were smashed, and the burglaries are thought to be related.
