Port Royal police investigate armed robbery

Port Royal police and the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office canine unit were unable to find two men suspected of robbing a gas station late Tuesday.

Officers were called at about 11 p.m. to the Express Lane Exxon gas station on Parris Island Gateway, where a clerk said two men walked into the store, brandished a revolver and demanded cash, according to a Sheriff's Office report.

They stole $250 and some cigarettes, the report said.

No injuries were reported.

Police requested help from the canine unit to track the robbers but were unable to find the men, the report said.

Both suspects are black. One was described as wearing a blue baseball-style shirt and a blue bandana over his face. The other wore all black.
