A woman standing next to a tow truck parked in the emergency lane on1-95 north in Jasper County was killed when a car veered off the highway at noon on Saturday.
The car ran off the road near mile marker 26 and crashed in to the vehicle being loaded on to the tow truck, according to Cpl. Bob Beres with South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Both cars then struck two women standing next to the tow truck. One was killed instantly while the other was taken to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah with unknown injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to Colleton Medical Center.

Highway Patrol is investigating the collision, according to a news release.
Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls said the deceased had not been positively identified Saturday evening.
